Director Sydney Pollack was aware that Meryl Streep could eclipse any actor with just her eyes and controlled body language. He also knew I was confident in romantic scenes. So when he shot our intimate scenes, he used a blue shade and soft lighting to create the romantic atmosphere concentrating his camera on both our lips, then eyes and ultimately the kisses. Meryl was a little hesitant at first about the kissing scenes but after realising the intensity of the scene reacted wonderfully. - Robert Redford
